3 Strikes and you are out

YES Summary:

·       Police, prosecutors, and judges play a huge role in identify the most serious offenders.
·       Studies show that 3 strikes or other get tough laws are effective deterrents
·       Criminals are not born they’re made, and it all begins with their upbringing.
NO Summary:
·       3 strikes laws and similar legislation are basically set up to be efficient and easy to conduct.
·       Most cases end with a plea bargin but it has been shown that with three strike laws cases go to trial significantly more often which of course cost money.
·       Has led to the overcrowding of prisons and the early release of many offenders

Reflection:
When it comes to this issue I am stuck in the middle, but that is where I think the answer to both sides lay. We should allow for polices like 3 strikes but with that we need to account for circumstances that may not warrant a life sentence. If a guy has 2 strikes in 1980 then is caught stealing a candy bar in 2012 we obviously should not give him life in prison for that. The answer to nearly every difficult question is found in the middle and moderation is the key to everything.
